Complete Nielsen Ratings: August 1 - 7, 2016
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #84:
It was pretty much a given that NBC would sweep the week in the ratings, as the 2016 Summer Olympics kicked off on Friday night. NBC took the top five spots of the chart, including the first three nights of the Rio Games and two nights of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. Every hour of NBC's program was within the top 40, with the season premiere of RUNNING WILD W/BEAR GRYLLS taking the 40th position.
Thanks to a strong season finale and after show of THE BACHELORETTE, ABC pushed past CBS for the #2 spot of the week. The dating reality series took the #6 position, while the AFTER THE ROSE special was 7th. Wednesday's CMA MUSIC FEST ranked 14th, filling three hours, the season premiere of BACHELOR IN PARADISE and a rerun of CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD round out the network's entries in the top 30.
CBS had 14 shows in the top 30, most of any network. Burt it still came in third place on the fact it does not have a huge summer draw, like an AMERICA'S GOT TALENT or THE BACHELORETTE.
FOX was its usual 4th place, with two editions of MASTERCHEF making the top 30. FOX actually had the two least watched shows of the week, in a double shot of WAYWARD PINES encores, on Saturday night.
