US Box Office Results: July 29 - 31, 2016
Matt Damon is back as JASON BOURNE, with the #1 movie in America. The fifth movie in the franchise, and the fourth with Damon, collected $60 million in its first three days of release. It is the second bast opening of the franchise, behind Damon's last Bourne movie, THE BOURN ULTIMATUM, in 2007.
Last week's #1 movie, STAR TREK BEYOND fell to second place, with another $24 million The movie crossed the $100 million line within its first 10 days of release, with a total of over $105 million.
The comedy BAD MONS had a nice opening weekend, placing third overall, with $23.4 million. That laread tops the movie's $20 million production budget. The movie should see a total of around $60 million, by the time it finishes its theatrical run.
