Final Broadcast Ratings: July 13, 2016

For the second night in a row, AMERICA'S GOT TALENT tops an annual sports programming event. On Wednesday night, it topped THE ESPYS, on ABC, more than doubling it in total viewers and beating in in each of the three demographic categories. In Adults 25-54, AGT posted a rating 50% higher than THE ESPYS. At 10 PM, THE NIGHT SHIFT posted season highs, including 6.3 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 25-54.

THE ESPYS returned to ABC for a second year of coverage, collecting just 5.6 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down 2.2 million viewers and 28% in the demo, from last years event. THE ESPYS did draw the most Males 18-49 than any other program of the night, with a 8 share in the demographic.

CBS and FOX battled it out for a distant third place showing. CBS had the #2 show of the evening, with BIG BROTHER drawing 6.1 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the A18-49 demo. But, an encore of CRIMINAL MINDS and the low ratings from the summer drama AMERICAN GOTHIC, pulls CBS down to FOX level ratings. FOX was fourth in each hour.
