US Box Office Results: June 17 - 19, 2016
The opening weekend of Disney/Pixar's FINDING DORY broke the record for an animated movie, collecting $136 million in its first three days. The release saw the sequel brake the opening and single day records, along with the weekend record, topping SHREK THE THIRD's release. FINDING DORY is already the 10th highest grossing film of 2016.
Also new this weekend was the action-comedy, CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE, staring Dewayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The movie scored $34.5 million , or 70% of its production budget.
Last week's #1 movie, THE CONJURING 2, dropped to third place, adding 15.6 million to its 10 day total of $71.7 million.
