THE JUNGLE BOOK continues to roll over the competition, in its third week of release. The remake took in another $42.4 million, bringing its domestic total to $252 million. That places it in fifth place, about $30 million behind STAR WARS: TFA., on the 2016 chart.
The top new release was the comedy KEANU, bringing in a decent $9.4 million in its first weekend of release. The $15 million movie should easily make back its production budget by the end of its run.
