Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 05/03/2016

It is not often a fifth year network series has nearly a full year between a season finale and the following season premiere, but that is the case of PERSON OF INTEREST, which began its last season, as burn-off, on CBS. The dark action drama premiered to soft numbers, grabbing 7.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. That is up from last week's LIMITLESS season finale. The series begins a two-a-week episode run (Mondays & Tuesdays) for the remaining 12 episodes.

THE VOICE posted its lowest ratings of the season, drawing just 8.4 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down 1.7 million viewers and 20% in the demo, from last Tuesday's episode. The VOICE tied for third, with NEW GIRL, in the A18-34 demographic, losing to both NCIS and THE FLASH. CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO FIRE were also down roughly 15% from last week.

THE FLASH was the #1 show of the night, in the A18-34 demographic. Drew more viewers than all but one show from both ABC and FOX. Topped all ABC and FOX shows in the A18-49 demo. THE CW, as a whole, tied with CBS for second place in the A18-34 demo.

FOX had a relatively bad night. only one comedy, 8 PM NEW GIRL, drew over two million viewers and the network was clearly the fifth place network, last night.
