Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 05/22/2016

ABC had an easy time sweeping the Sunday night ratings, thanks to the BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS. The three hour pop music event collected 8.9 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49. It was the most watched and highest rated program of the night, but that is down over 20% in total viewers and a loss of 24% in the A18-49 demographic, from last year's telecast.

FOX closed out its animated comedies, until next fall, to secure the #2 spot of the night. FOX out rated the combined ratings of CBS and NBC, in the A18-34 demographic, and edged CBS in the A18-49 demo, for second place.

CBS was not very competitive on the night, filling the four hours with two hours of 60 MINUTES and two episodes of UNDERCOVER BOSS. The night was not much more than schedule filler.

NBC was last on the night, with its most watched show being an encore of LITTLE BIG SHOTS, at 8 PM.
