NBC Fall 2016-17 Primetime Schedule

NBC released its 2016-17 fall schedule and it features only three new series, but thre returning series have new time slots.

On Mondays, NBC is again taking advantage of THE VOISE lead in power and schedule the sci-fi drama, TIMELESS, at 10 PM. That pushes BLINDSPOT to Wednesdays at 8 PM, hoping to shore up that troubled time slot. Hopefully, for NBC, BLINDSPOT does not have the let down that THE BLACKLIST experiences, when moving to a new night.

The dramedy, THIS IS US, will occupy the second best spot on the schedule, following THE VOICE and before CHICAGO FIRE, on Tuesday nights. That moves CHICAGO MED to a new night, on Thursdays.

Thursday nights have completely changed. Comedies are back for the 8 PM hour, with SUPERSTORE leading things off, with new sitcom, THE GOOD PLACE, following at 8:30 PM. CHICAGO MED is the 9 PM program, a vast improvement of a lead in for THE BLACKLIST, now at 10 PM.

Friday through Sundays remain the same.

Waiting in the wings for midseason are new dramas THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION, CHICAGO JUSTICE, EMERALD CITY, TAKEN, and MIDNIGHT TEXAS. Comedies for midseason are MARLON, TRIAL & ERROR, GREAT NEWS, POWERLESS and third year series, THE CARMICHAEL SHOW.
