Final Broadcast Ratings: May 8, 2016
It was season finale Sunday for CBS as all three of its dramas ended their season, with THE GOOD WIFE ending its series run. THE GOOD WIFE was the night's most watched program, drawing 10.6 million viewers, posted a night's best 2.0 rating in Adults 25-54 and tied for the best A18-49 demographic ratings, with a 1.3 rating.
MADAM SECRETARY was the second most watched show of the night, with 10 million viewers. It helped lead CBS to victories in total viewership, tie with ABC in the A18-49 demo and take the A25-54 demographic. ELEMENTARY lost all momentum from its lead ins, dropping nearly half of the audience numbers, built over the previous two hours.
Although ABC's numbers look bad, with very low total viewership, it still challenges the other networks in the younger demographics. Once again, AFV is the leader of the network, topping ONCE UPON A TIME and QUANTICO in the ratings.
FOX did tie with ABC for the top average in the A18-34 demographic, posting a 0.8 average. Its two million viewer average is pretty horrible, but it does make up, a little, with nearly all younger viewers.
With LITTLE BIG SHOTS out of original episodes, NBC struggles to be the #3 network on the night. A special "Top 10" of LITTLE BIG SHOTS moments drew the nights best A18-49 demo, with a 1.3 score. But, rehashing previous episodes will only last so long.
