Final Broadcast Ratings: May 23, 2016
ABC edged out NBC to win Monday night, thanks to a solid performance from DANCING WITH THE STARS and the season premiere of THE BACHELORETTE. DWTS kicked of the night beating THE VOICE in total viewership and in the A18-34 demographic. DWTS was up across the board, week-to-week, and posted its best numbers in six weeks. THE BACHELORETTE was the #1 show of the night in the two younger demographics, topping THE VOICE in the A18-49 demo and dominating in the A18-34 demo. Compared to last year's premiere, THE BACHELORETTE is nearly flat, losing just a couple 200k in total viewership.
THE VOICE is down week-to-week, in the A18-49 and even in the A18-34 and A25-54 demos, but up in total viewers. The BLINDSPOT finale was flat in the demo, from last week's numbers, but up 850,000 total viewers.
CBS has moderate success with its Primetime THE PRICE IS RIGHT special. The SURVIVOR EDITION of the popular game show topped FOX in the 8 PM hour. Back-to-back episodes of THE ODD COUPLE did little to stir interest, losing a third of its lead in audience and PERSON OF INTEREST was last in the 10 PM hour.
The season finale of GOTHAM placed fourth in its time slot and was down week-to-week.
The season premiere of WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? does show viewers will turn to the CW on Monday nights, as it averaged 1.4 million viewers over the two episodes.
