Final Broadcast Ratings: April 3, 2016
CBS wins Sunday night, on the backs of the ACM Awards. The annual Country Music program collected 11.2 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49. It was the #1 show of the night, topping LITTLE BIG SHOTS in every key demographic. However, the three hour event saw big losses, year to year. It was down 4.8 million viewers and dropped 36% in the A18-49 demographic.
NBC edged out ABC for a distant second place, as LITTLE BIG SHOTS continues to post strong numbers, grabbing 11.3 million viewers on the night. The key demographic ratings were slightly down from last week, but still almost twice that of any other Sunday night series.
ABC is in a world of hurt with its line up. Only AFV drew more than four million viewers and ONCE UPON A TIME had the network's best A18-49 demo, a 1.1 rating. Compared to the season premiere, back in September, OUAT is down 60% in the demo and lost over two million viewers.
FOX was a typical fourth place, with none of its six programs able to draw more than 2.4 million viewers. As I have stated for many years, FOX needs to break up the comedies and rebuild Sunday nights. It could possibly breath new life in the comedies and bring in a new audience on Sundays.
