Complete Nielsen Ratings: April 4 - 10, 2016
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #98:
FOX has a strong week, winning the two key demographic categories, thanks to three nights of AMERICAN IDOL, including the series finale. IDOL represents nearly a third of the network's line up, and all three nights made the top 40. Tuesday night and Wednesday night dramatically improved their respective time slots, over regular programming. Ad in EMPIRE and FOX actually looked like a competitive network.
The AMERICAN IDOL finale was the 4 show of the week, drawing 13.31 million viewers. Three other programs joined the finale, in the top 30, including the Wednesday night edition of IDOL (#13) and hit drama EMPIRE (#9). That was enough to push FOX past ABC for the week and place third in total viewership.
CBS was still relatively solid, drawing an average of two million more viewers than the other three networks. CBS was the #2 network in both demographics, and in control to win the season in the A18-49 demographic. CBS pushed a total of 16 shows in the top 30, including five top ten programs and the top three spots.
NBC placed third for the week, with its usual line up of shows ranking in the top 30. Only one night of THE VOICE (#10) made the top ten, with the Tuesday night edition being a recap episode. LITTLE BIG SHOTS (#6) was the most watched NBC program.
ABC had five top 30 shows, with DANCING WITH THE STARS (#8) the only ABC program in the top 15.
