ZOOTOPIA dethrones DEADPOOL (#3) to be this weekend's #1 movie, and score Disney Animation's biggest opening weekend ever. The animated move took in just under $74 million i its first three days, making the 9th best opening by ANY animated movie. ZOOTOPIA has a great show of topping $200 million by the end of its run.
Also new out this weekend is LONDON HAS FALLEN, which came in second, taking in $22 million. That is about a third less than 2013's OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN took in in its first weekend of release.
The lowest ranking of the new releases was Tina Fey's WHISKY TANGO FOXTROT, which only brought in $7.6 million. That is the second lowest opening for a Tina Fey lead, wide-release movie, topping only 2013's ADMISSION. WTF will be lucky to grab $30 million in theaters.
