Ratings Archives: Week of September 28 - October 4, 1998
It is the third week of the 1998-99 TV season and CBS is the #1 network, edging out NBC. The CBS Sunday lineup of 60 MINUTES, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL and the Sunday Night Movie, all make the top 10. It is only bested by NBC's Thursday line up, which captures the top 5.
What is beginning to separate CBS from NBC is the Middle of the pack. Shows like JAG, EVERYBODY LOVE RAYMOND, KING OF QUEENS, and even MURDER SHE WROTE. NBC is being drug down by such forgettable shows like SUDDENLY SUSAN, CAROLINE IN THE CITY, and ENCORE!, ENCORE!
ABC is a full point back from NBC and FOX is two full points behind ABC. THE ABC comedies, like THE DREW CAREY SHOW, HOME IMPROVEMENT, and DHARMA & GREG, plus Monday Night Football, keep it well above FOX. FOX is covering the MLB playoffs on three of the seven nights.
The WB and UPN are still mostly airing encores.
