Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 03/29/2016
NBC wins a second night in a row, behind the ratings force of THE VOICE. The talent competition series racked up 10.8 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49, top numbers of the night. That represents flat viewership, from last week, but a decline in the A18-49 demographic by 8%. The return of CHICAGO MED rose the 9 PM hour by 2.3 million viewers and 28% in the demo, over last week's HEARTBEAT premiere. I think we can kiss HEARTBEAT good-bye come May.
CBS was the #2 network on the night, with encores from the two NCIS series and a new LATE LATE SHOW special, CARPOOL KARAOKE. KARAOKE only held 50% of its total viewership lead in and 75% of the A18-49 demo, but considering the lead in program, its not that horrible of a performance.
The CW was the #3 network of the night, thanks to a relatively strong outing by THE FLASH. The A18-49 demo was up 20% and the A18-34 demo jumped 22%, from last week's episode. THE FLASH tied for the second best A18-34 rating on the night and was fourth, overall, in the A18-49 demo.
FOX sucked just a little bit more than ABC, to be the last place network. Both nets lost to the CW in the A18-34 demographic. Both networks need to look to clean house on the night, for the fall 2016 schedule.
