Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 03/06/2016
The first Sunday in March brought forth three winter premieres, two from ABC and one from FOX. Not a single premiere could generate an audience over 4.5 million viewers, not post an A18-49 demo rating above a 1.5. ABC should be disappointed with the just renewed ONCE UPON A TIME and QUANTICO as neither series generated decent ratings for their returns. OUAT did win its 8 pm slot in the demo. Compared to their fall finales, OUAT is down 600,000 viewers, but even in the three demographics. QUANTICO if off by 900k in viewership and lost 15% in the A18-49 demo.
Over on FOX, THE LAST MAN STANDING returned and brought up the 9:30 PM time slot. It held 100% of its lead in audience and kept 85% of the A18-49 demographic. Compared to BORDERTOWN's last original in the half hour, TLMOE added one million viewers and pushed the A18-49 demo up by 57%. I think THE LAST MAN ON EARTH just solidified its spot on the 2016-17 schedule.
CBS was, by far, the most watched network of the night, with a 60% advantage over NBC. But, CBS also came in 4th in the A18-34 demo and third A18-49 demographic. Its shows do not target younger viewers, but draw in older viewers, with higher incomes.
NBC's patchwork scheduling for Sundays did land i a win for the night, except in total viewership. A Rerun of the voice was just as effective as originals airing on CBS and ABC.
