Final Broadcast Ratings: March 23, 2016

For the second straight night, CBS sweeps the nightly ratings, with three of the four most watched programs and posting two of the three best A18-49 ratings, of the night. CB was boosted with a relatively strong showing by CRIMINAL MINDS, which was up almost one million viewers and 15% in the demo, over last week's ratings, and grew out of SURVIVOR. That is something CM has not done this spring. CM: BEYOND BORDERS was down in its second week, despite a stronger lead in performance. The new series dropped one tenth of a point in the A18-49 demo and lost 500,000 viewers.

ABC was a close second place, but a weak showing by NASHVILLE killed any hopes of winning the night. The veteran country drama was a distant 3rd (last) place in its 10 PM slot and tied HEARTBEAT for the worst A18-49 rating of a program from the BIG 4 networks.

NBC edged out FOX for a distant third place showing. the time slot premiere of the new medical drama, HEARTBEAT, was four place finish, fifth in the key A18-34 demographic, in the 8 PM hour. That lead into weaker than usual performances by both LAW & ORDER and CHICAGO PD.
