TV News Roundup: February 17, 2016


  • A&E Crime drama axed for third time
  • NBC going variety with new series
  • FOX has another series reboot, with Damon Wayans
  • CW announces spring premieres

FORGETTABLE cancelled again:
For the third time in its TV life, the crime drama UNFORGETTABLE has been cancelled. This time it was by its new network, A&E, which ran just one season of the series, this winter.



NBC continues variety genre:
Neil Patrick Harris' variety show may be history, but nBC is going forward with a new variety series next season. MAYA & MARTY IN MANHATTAN will star Maya Rudolph and Martin Short, be executive produced by Loren Michaels. No episode order has been set.



Murtaugh role cast in FOX's LETHAL WEAPON reboot series:
Comedian Damon Wayans Sr. has been cast in the Danny Glover roll of the new series pilot, LETHAL WEAPON.



Netflix renews NONE:
Netflix series MASTER OF NONE as been picked up for a second season.



CW spring premiere dates:
The CW has released the premiere dates for some of its late season/summer series.

  • April 19 - CONTAINMENT (Tuesdays @ 9PM)
  • April 25 - REIGN (Mondays @ 8PM)
  • June 2 - BEAUTY & THE BEAST (Thursdays @ 9 PM)


VH1 greenlights new series:
THE BREAKS, an original TV movie, is becoming a TV series on VH1. A late 2016 premiere date is projected.
