Preliminary Ratings: Monday 02/22/2016
There were four season finales on Monday night, including NBC closing the season on all of its current Monday night line up. The Comedies SUPERSTORE and TELENOVELA finished with a 4th place finish in the 8 PM hour, averaging 3.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. SUPERSTORE was the stronger of the two sitcoms and has the better chance of renewal. Closing out the night for NBC was THE BIGGEST LOSER finale. It drew 3.9 million viewers and a 1.2 million viewers, about where it has hovered all season.Over on FOX, the series event of THE X-FILES closed out with 7.6 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49. That is up from last week's episode, by three tenths in the demo and 600k in total viewers. It was a good ride for FOX and was a much needed ratings boost it needed.
ABC was the top network in the A18034 and A18-49 demographics, thanks to a solid performance by THE BACHELOR. The datings reality series hauled in 8.5 million viewers, a 2.4 rating in Adults 18-34 and a 2.5 rating in the A18-49 demo. It pushed ABC to #1 from 8 to 9 PM. At 10 PM, ABC sunk to last place, with CASTLE. The crime drama fell below THE BIGGEST LOSER in the younger demographics and tied it in the A25-54 demo. The series also drug ABC's average down 20% from what THE BACHELOR had established.
CBS was a third place network, but #1 in total viewers. All three dramas brought in mediocre numbers in the three demographics, but faired better as the ages grew older.
