Final Broadcast Ratings: February 24, 2015
The Wednesday night ratings was a three dog race, with FOX, ABC and CBS all fighting for shares of the nightly win. All three nets tied in the A18-49 demo, with a 1.7 rating, and just a tenth of a point separated the three networks in the A25-54 demo. CBS dominated in total viewers, with over eight million. FOX and ABC tied in the A18-34 demo, with CBS just tenth behind.
The number one show of the night was AMERICAN IDOL, scoring the most viewers and #2 in all three demographics. ABC's MODERN FAMILY was #1 in the three demos. Both shows saw growth week-to week.
CODE BLACK closed out its first, possibly only, season with ratings typical of the last two months. The series will be a bubble series for renewal, but I can see CBS passing on a second season and trying something new in the time slot, come this fall.
The lowest rated show, outside of the CW, was MYSTERIES OF LAURA. It brought in the lowest demo numbers from a Big four network program and was the third lowest in total viewers. Oddly enough, MOL also pull the lowest share among Women, 18-49.
Wednesdays is beginning to be The CW's most consistent night. Both series, ARROW and SUPERNATURAL, pull in relatively good numbers, with solid retention at 9 PM. That is unlike Tuesday and Thursday nights and their 9 PM shows.
