US Box Office Results: January 1 - 3, 2016
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS takes its third weekend in a row, adding another $88 million to its impressive domestic total. The movie crossed the $700 million mark, for a USA total of $740 million. The word wide total for STAR WARS: TFA is now $1.51 Billion, 5th all time, and still $1.2 billion away from Avatar.
DADDY'S HOME stays in the #2 spot, in its second weekend of release, bringing in $29 million. The Will Ferrell comedy has a 10 day total of $93 million, domestically.
Disappointment this holiday season is POINT BREAK, which cost $105 million to produce, placed just 9th in its second weekend out, and a just a little over $22 million for its 10-day total.
