Primetime Cable Ratings: January 7, 2016

WWE SMACKDOWN had its official premiere on its new network, USA, and ranked second on the night. The wrestling event drew 2.8 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. That is about 30 better than its last pre-holiday airing on SyFy.

LIP SYNC BATTLE kicked of a new season, drawing 2.5 million viewers and an the night's best A18-49 rating of a 1.4 score. That is better than the series premiere, back in April, 2015, and a 40% jump in the A18-49 rating.

CNN's presentation of the President's Town Hall on gun control did lukewarm ratings. Just 1.9 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49, tuned in. A regular ANDERSON COOPER 360, at 8 PM, did better numbers than the President.
