Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 01/28/2016

The first night of the February sweeps saw ABC finish in 5th place and close out the short first/only season of MY DIET IS BETTER THAN YOURS. The low rated reality series was the night's second lowest rated program of the night,topping only THE 100, on the CW. MY DIET drew just 2.1 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49. ABC was 5th in the A18-34 and the A18-49 demo and barely edged the CW in the A25-54 demographic.

Week two of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW did have a roughly 20% drop from its premiere. Viewership went from 3.2 million to 2.8 million and the A18-49 demo fell to a 1.1 rating, from a 1.2 rating. It is still a top three program for the network.

NBC's series premiere of YOU, ME AND THE APOCALYPSE did improve the 8 PM time slot over last week's finale of HEROES REBORN. The 5.0 million viewers is 1/2 million more than last week and the A18-49 demo rose 20%. It is not even close to being a hit, but it is a small step in the right direction. THE BLACKLIST held last week's numbers, while SHADES OF BLUE slightly dropped.

CBS was the #2 network of the night, despite half of the night in encores. Only ANGEL FROM HELL and ELEMENTARY aired original episodes. Odd not to have a new episodes of BIG BANG on the first night of the sweeps, but it still posted solid numbers with both encore episodes.

AMERICAN IDOL push FOX to a nightly win, coming in second in total viewers and first in all three key demographics.
