Complete Nielsen Ratings: January 18 - 24, 2016
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #87:
FOX took full advantage of its primetime NFL playoff game, sweeping the week in the ratings. The 3rd place network took three of the top four spots, including the NFC Championship game with 45.7 million viewers. The game pulled in mid to high teens in the three demographic categories.
Also doing strong numbers for FOX was the premiere episode of the new X-FILES event series, which took in 16.2 million viewers, after the NFC game. It was the highest rated series in the A18-49 demo, with a 6.1 rating. Rounding out the networks representation in the top 30 were the two nights of AMERICAN IDOL, ranking 12 & 14.
CBS was a distant second place, dominating the chart with 14 of the top 20 programs and 17 of the top 30. CBS didn't have that big primetime event, but was consistent through most nights, with all but one show ranking above the #45 position.
NBC and ABC battled it out for a third place showing, with NBC doing slightly better. NBC pushed six shows in the top 30, but its highest ranking show was CHICAGO FIRE, at #19. ABC only had two shows in the top 30. THE BACHELOR at #21 and THE MIDDLE at #24.
The CW had a good week. ARROW (#27) and THE FLASH (#20) made the top 30 in the A18-34 demo, with LEGENDS OF TOMORROW just out side at #34
