YouTube to get into OTT streaming business:
YouTube is looking to secure streaming rights of TV shows and movies, to take on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu in the OTT streaming game. Talks are in the early stages, but YouTube would add any "syndicated" content with its YouTube Red service, which gives you add free content on YouTube, plus google Play Music.
Rebranding DirectTV:
Stating in 2016, AT&T is shifting away from the DirectTV branding and establishing AT&T Entertainment branding. The new branding will also affect the U-Verse brand.
Prime adds services to bundle:
It was suspected last week, but is reality this week, that Amazon Prime is now offering Showtime and Starz as bundled options to Prime Members.
FXX renews low rated sitcom:
One of the lowest rated cable sitcoms on TV is getting a third season, as FXX renews YOU'RE THE WORST for a third season.
FOX draws FIRST BLOOD:
Adding to its many reboot/remake project is a proposed RAMBO TV series, on FOX. Sylvester Stallone would NOT be attached as a producer, the main character would be the son of his character, John Rambo.
NBC reups veteran drama:
THE BLACK LIST will be on NBC for at least through the 2016-17 TV season, as NBC renews the crime drama.
