Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 12/17/2015

Airing all original episodes and a hyped up THE BIG BANG THEORY, CBS swept the Thursday night ratings by more than doubling up the next closest competitor, ABC and tripling up NBC.

THE BIG BANG THEORY hyped episode drew 17.40 million viewers and a 4.1 rating in Adults 18-49. but the network did have Thursday Night Football preemptions in St. Louis and Tampa, so the numbers will adjust down in finals, later today.

ABC got so-so ratings from its two PREP & LANDING holiday specials, but had disappointing numbers from the latest Barbara Walters year end special. The 10 Most Fascinating People only generated a 1.0 rating in the prized A18-49 demographic. Last year, the special, airing on a Sunday, drew a 1.4 demo ratings, along with 7.8 million viewers.

NBC barely did better than FOX on the night, despite the President Obama edition of RUNNING WILD WITH BEAR GRYLS. The 3.5 million viewers and 0.9 rating in the A18-49 demo is down from this past season's average, in the demo.
