US Box office Results: December 4 - 6, 2015
Make it three weeks in a row for MOCKINGJAY Part 2, as it was the #1 movie of the weekend, edging a surprise competitor, KRAMPUS, by just $2.6 million. This brings the final HUNGER GAMES movie domestic total to over $227 million, placing in the #6 spot for the year.
KRAMPUS, forcast to bring in just $12 million this weekend, added another 33% to its total for a $16 million take in its first three days. The horror/comedy movie had a production budget of just $15 million, so it should have a healthy return for the studio.
Looking to be the first "disappointment" from PIXAR, THE GOOD DINOSAUR has only grossed $75 million in its first 10 days and will struggle to not be the worst performing PIXAR movie, ever. The goal to not be that movie is $163 million, in order to pass 1998's A BUG's LIFE.
