NBC's new OTT service to get free trial:
SEESO, the new comedy OTT service from NBC, is launching December 3, 2015 and the network is releasing a limited number of beta-memberships on a first come, first serve basis. Once the service goes live, the monthly subscription rate will be $4 per month. [LINK]
Univision OTT service:
Univision is now into the streaming service game by offering live streams of both Univision and UniMas, pus some on-demand content, for $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
Smithsonian OTT channel:
Smithsonian Networks will be launching a new OTT service named Smithsonian Earth, for $3.99 per month. The subscription channel will offer new and original programs for the channel and will be streaming in 4k, via Roku devices. [LINK]
NFL TNF on Yahoo?:
The NFL met with officials from Yahoo! to discuss the possibility of adding the platform to Thursday Night Football telecasts. No details if this would edge out a broadcast network (CBS) from the first half of the package or if the Yahoo! deal would only be for the NFL Network exclusive second half of the package.
No more SOUP for you!:
After more than two decades, E! is cancelling the comedy series THE SOUP. The final episode will air on December 18.
More Ghosts on SyFy:
The SyFy network has renewed both GHOST HUNTERS and PARANORMAL WITNESS for new seasons in 2016.
FX axes the EXECUTIONER:
Freshman drama THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER was axed by FX because of low, declining ratings, during its first season.
More ABC Comedies:
ABC has added two more episodes to the season orders of THE MIDDLE, THE GOLDBERGS, BLACK-ISH and FRESH OFF THE BOAT.
POP gets wrestling franchise:
The cable channel POP will be the new, exclusive home of IMPACT WRESTLING, starting January 5, 2016. The franchise current home is Destination America and was on Spike TV in 2014.
