Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 11/19/2015
With the start of the final week of the November sweeps, ABC and NBC gave us their fall/series finales. ABC's finales helped push the network to #1 in the demos, while NBC's finales drug it just above FOX, for a weak third place finish.
GREY'S ANATOMY, SCANDAL and HTGAWM posted three of the top four ratings in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos, right behind THE BIG BANG THEORY. ABC was #1 from 9 to 11 p.m. and second in the 8 p.m. hour. All three dramas will return on February 11, 2016.
NBC's finales were much less impressive. THE BLACKLIST was third in its time slot, while HEROES REBORN was 4th and THE PLAYER last in their respective time slots. The good thing for NBC is that THE PLAYER is now, officially, the second fall series to end its run, after 9 episodes, and HEROES REBORN will run its last three episodes in January. Perhaps THE BLACKLIST can get better support on the night, come 2016.
CBS was the most watched network, mainly on the backs of THE BIG BANG THEORY. Encouraging data from week two of 2 BROKE GIRLS is growth in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos, out of MOM, and ratings were up from last week's season premiere.
FOX was in its usual 4th place slot. BONES continues to be the second best performing series of the NETWORK, which shows just how messed up the network is. SLEEPY HOLLOW ends its fall run in a very weak 4th place finish, but things will only get worse when it returns in 2016. The series moves to Friday nights, starting February 5, 2016.
