Preliminary Ratings: Monday 10/12/15

The CW debuted the final two regular series for Monday night, and neither did well. The Network's only freshman series this fall, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, drew just 900,000 viewers and a meager 0.3 rating in each of the three demographic categories. That is far below the 1.4 million viewers and 0.7 rating in the A18-49 demo, that THE ORIGINALS posted last year. JANE THE VIRGIN did build on its lead in, but not by much. Only 1.1 million viewers watched the second season opener and the demos posted the same 0.4 rating. Last year's premiere drew 1.6 million viewers and a 0.6 demo.

NBC swept the night in the ratings, with good showing THE VOICE. It was the #1 program in all three demos and is right with DWTS for the second most viewers. BLIND SPOT continues to dominate its time slot, and saw slight growth in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos, over last week.

CBS was a solid second place, but LIFE IN PIECES is losing between 40 to 50 percent of BIG BANG's lead in audience. Also, NCIS is again having a slow fall start as it loses another tenth of a point in the A18-49 demographic.

ABC is holding steady at #3 as both shows pull in about the same ratings as last week.

GOTHAM has settled into its ratings spot, but MINORITY REPORT is still looking bad, with another week under 2.2 million viewers and sub ones in the three demographic categories. I think REPORT will beat THE PLAYER as the first cancellation of the 2015-16 TV season.
