AdAge has released their 2015 primetime network ad price survey and this year we will break them down night by night.
The most expensive ad of the night is a 30 second spot on THE BIG BANG THEORY. it is the #2 program of network TV, commanding a strong $344,000 per spot. That is up about $3,500 from 2014. CBS also has the cheapest ad spot, of the Big 4 networks, as NCIS:LA now only grabs $110,000 per spot.
ABC has the lowest average on the night, of the Big 4, at about $115k per commercial. CASTLE has the biggest year-to-year drop, discounting 2015 by 20% from 2014's price.
NBC has the largest average at around $230,000 a commercial. Surising to see THE VOUCE drop 12%, year-to-year, but 2014 did not rate as high as 2013. Although BLINDSPOT is the #3 highest priced show of the night, it is a drop of $over $70k from what NBC was commanding for THE BLACKLIST, last fall.
FOX did take a big hit from last year. The 2014 average was over $190,000 between GOTHAM and SLEEPY HOLLOW. Now, GOTHAM and MINORITY REPORT only average $135,000.
The CW id down on its nightly average, but JANE THE VIRGIN is up from last year's rate. Based on the ad rate, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND is not expected to do the numbers THE ORIGINALS produced on Monday nights, in 2014.
