Ratings Review: MURDER IN THE FIRST (Season Two - Summer 2015)

Second year crime drama, MURDER IN THE FIRST is still trying to emerge from the shadows of its lead in, MAJOR CRIMES. Its retention out of CRIMES is barely 50% and is even worse in the younger A18-34 demographic.

The summer season, MURDER IN THE FIRST averaged 2.06 million viewers, a 0.2 rating in Adults 18-34, a 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 0.5 rating in Adults 25-54, in the Live+SD ratings.

The Live+3 ratings added one million viewers and three tenths of a ratings point to the A18-49 demo. The total averages for the series, by the Live+7 ratings, were 3.7 million viewers (+80%) and a 0.6 rating (+100%) in the A18-49 demo. With these numbers, MURDER has to be a 50/50 bet, at best, to get renewed for a third season.
