Ratings Review: EXTANT (Season Two)
For a second straight summer, the sophomore drama, EXTANT, produced lackluster ratings, especially in the younger demographics. Unless this series is a favorite of a high CBS executive, I can not see a reason for them to renew the series for a third summer run.In the live+SD ratings, EXTANT averaged 4.72 million viewers, a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-34, a 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49, and a 1.1 rating in Adults 25-54. That is a year-to-year drop of 1.5 million viewers and 47% in the A18-49 demo.
In the Live+3 ratings, total viewership rose 1.3 million viewers and the A18-49 rating grew by 43%. The Live+7 ratings brought the averages to 6.43 million viewers (+36%) and a 1.1 rating (+57%) in the A18-49 demographic.
