Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 09/20/15

The last day of the 2015 Summer TV season featured the 2015 EMMY AWARDS vs the NFL, and the NFL won. The SNF game drew 23 million viewers and an 8.5 rating in the A18-49 demographic. That is down about 15% from last week's game, but still a very solid number for a Sunday night game.

The annual pat on the back for the Hollywood TV types collected just 10.4 million viewers and a 3.2 demo rating. That is down over 30% in total viewers and a full point in the A18-49 demographic ratings. Remember that the 2014 awards show aired on Monday, August 25, to accommodate NBC's NFL schedule.

Broadcast TV did terrible in the Emmy's winning just seven statues on the night, four of which were not from scripted series. Take out the broadcast networks wins, and the average viewer audience for the winning shows are under two million. And, GAME OF THRONES skews that number higher than what it may really be.
