Final Broadcast Ratings: September 28, 2015
NBC had no problem winning the Monday night ratings, sweeping the numbers in every category. Week-to-week, the networks, in general, were down. NBC dropped 700,000 in total viewers and averaged a three tenths of a point fall in each of the three demo ratings. CBS was off by 1.6 million viewers and lost 0.3 points in the A18-34 demo and 0.4 points in the A18-49 demo. FOX lost the least, dropping just 200k in total viewers, but saw the two younger demographic rise by a tenth of a point. ABC lost one million in viewers and lost an average of three tenths of a point in each demo category.
THE BIG BANG THEORY was the biggest loser, dropping 3 million viewers, 0.6 points in the A18-34 demo, 0.9 points in the A18-49 demo and 1.2 points in the A25-54 demo. LIFE IN PIECES was not far behind in the major erosion.
ABC saw a big drop from the preliminary ratings. What was looking like as decent week-to-week gains, turned out to be losses similar to the other networks. CASTLE was flat in the demos, but lost two million total viewers. The network must have had a preemption in a few markets to have such a swing between prelims and finals.
Last week's "hit", BLINDSPOT held up relatively well. Viewership did drop 1.5 million (-15%) and the three demo graphic lost 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 points, respectively. Well within normal parameters of a second week of a new series.
