US Box Office Results: August 14 - 16, 2015
STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON went strait to the top of the domestic box office, collecting $56 million, in its first three days of release. It easily topped the other new major release, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. , which brought in a disappointing $13.5 million. COMPTON's per screen average was an impressive $20,300, with the nearest competitor all the way back, under $5,000 per screen.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: RN continues to do well, dropping to just the #2 spot, in its third weekend of release. The Tom Cruise film currently has $138 million, domestically, and a total of $373 world wide.
FANTASTIC FOUR lost near 70% from last weekend's box office. At $41 million so far, the film will be luck to reach $60 by the end of its run.
