Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 08/05/15
With exception of ABC's two hour block of sitcom encores, Wednesday night was all original programming, on all four other networks. With that, FOX, NBC and CBS were clumped together at the top. CBS just edged out NBC for the most viewers. Those two networks just got by FOX to tie for the best number in the A18-34 demo. Just two tenths of a point separated NBC, FOX and CBS on the A18-49 demographic. And, NBC was one tenth better than CBS in the A25-54 demo.
BIG BROTHER topped AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, head-to-head, in the three demographic categories, although AGT had just a few thousand more viewers. BB17 was up three tenths of a point, in each of the demographic categories, while AGT was down two tenths in each category, along with a loss of one million viewers.
In season/series premieres, MR. ROBINSON got off to a relatively good start. The first of the two episodes held onto about 77% of each of demo categories, but lost 2.3 million total viewers, form its AMERICA'S GOT TALENT lead in. Episode two did drop about between 10-15 percent in the demos, and lost another 800,000 viewers.
Over on The CW, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL season premiere grabbed 1/2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the A18-49 demo. That is slightly up in total viewers, but the A18-49 demo was down a tenth of a point, from last years premiere.
The new series A WICKED OFFER performed about what any new summer series has done on the CW. A little over 700,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the A18-49 demo, is right there with what SIGNIFICANT MOTHER's premiere scored on Monday night and the first episode of DATES, back in early July.
The two episodes of EXTANT performed just as the rest of the season has, also matching last week's repeat of CRIMINAL MINDS, in the 10 p.m. slot.
