Preliminary Broadcast Ratings: Sunday 08/02/15
Is was a mixed bag of leadership, in the Sunday night ratings, as ABC, NBC and CBS each had a share of the top ratings. CBS had the most to shout about, taking the most viewers and the A25-54 demographic. ABC was the top network in the A18-34 demo and all three networks tied in the A18-49 demo.
ABC's win in the younger demographic was all on the season premiere of BACHELOR IN PARADISE, which grabbed a 1.0 rating, over the two hour telecast. The season opener also drew 3.6 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49. Both of those numbers are down, considerably, from last year's opener, dropping 1.7 million viewers and 2.1% in the demo. The numbers also way down from last week's CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD/BATTLEBOTS block, in the same two hours.
BIG BROTHER was the #1 show of the evening, posting the best numbers in each of the three measured demographic categories, plus the second most viewers, with 6.3 million viewers. But, CBS' two repeats, on the back half of the evening, really drug down the averages, allowing ABC and NBC to take a share of the nightly win.
NBC was all repeat, but the relatively decent A18-49 ratings, with no weak numbers, allwed the network to tie ABC and CBS in the category.
Nothing good from the FOX camp, as it was 4th place in every category.
