Final Broadcast Ratings: August 19, 2015
All four networks battle it out for supremacy in the Wednesday night ratings, as NBC actually posts the top number in each category, but CBS and FOX either ties or is right on its heels, in the younger demographic ratings, and ABC is right behind them.
AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was the night's most watched show, grabbing 9.1 million viewers . But the talent reality show was second in each of the three demo categories, and flat, week-to-week. The final two episodes of MR. ROBINSON did pretty much like the previous episodes, in the past two weeks. It is an "on the fence" series for another summer season, but I would tend to say it will not be back in 2016.
BIG BROTHER was the top show in all three demo ratings, drawing a 1.5, 2.1 and 2.6, respectively, younger to older. Those ratings are slight down, from last week, but viewership is on par. EXTANT continues to show why it should/will be cancelled. It loses between 50-80% in the younger demographics, following BIG BROTHER.
FOX stayed competitive with a slow an up tic in the ratings from HOME FREE. Week-to-week, is up 500,000 viewers, and about 20% in each of the three demographics. Expect FOX to order a second season, for 2016.
ABC was right there, thanks to some relatively competitive numbers from the four comedies. As the summer winds down, and kids are returning to school, returning series will start to see a rise in the ratings, as we get closer to the start of the 2015-16 season.
