FOX scores a rare weekly win, all thanks to a record breaking performance by the Women's World Cup Championship, featuring a USA blowout over Japan. The match collected 22.3 million viewers, a 5.8 rating in the A18-34 demo, a 7.0 rating in the A18-49 demo and an 8.0 rating in the A25-54 demo. It drew more the double the number of viewers as the #2 program AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. The semi-final game, on Tuesday, was thew #4 program. Add in Sunday's post game show (#3) and MASTERCHEF (#30) and that is the complete list of top 30 programs, on FOX.
CBS, as usual, posted the most number of shows into the top 30, with 18 programs, lead by the series premiere of ZOO (#5), with 8.2 million viewers. The four burn-off episodes of THE MCCARTHYS and THE MILLERS were the least watched, ranking 68th, or worse.
NBC placed six shows in the top 30, with an original and encore airings of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR, I CAN DO THAT and DATELINE. Even the live Saturday airing of the MACY'S 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS ranked 25th, with just under five million viewers.
ABC did not do well at all, ranking 4th in every category. Only CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD (#7) and THE BACHELORETTE (#9) were the networks only entries into the top 30.
