  • Netflix to be bigger than broadcast nets
  • FOX sets fall premiere dates
  • NBC renews summer series
  • TBS and AMC add pick up new shows

Netflix to be bigger than the Big 4 networks:
In roughly a years time, Netflix will have a bigger daily audience, in Nielsen ratings, than CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC. Its current 24 hour ratings are on par with ABC and NBC. It is reported that Netflix has 60 million subscribers, paying the $9 per month fee.



FOX sets fall premiere dates:
FOX  has released its fall 2015 premiere schedule, which will begin with the network's coverage of the annual Emmy Awards program, on Sept. 20th.
    Mondays:
    Sept. 21 - GOTHAM (8pm)
    Sept. 21 - MINORITY REPORT (9pm)

    Tuesdays:
    Sept. 22 - SCREAM QUEENS (8pm - 2hr) regular slot is 9pm
    Sept. 29 - GRANDFATHERED (8pm)
    Sept. 29 - THE GRINDER (8:30pm)

    Wednesdays:
    Sept. 23 - ROSEWOOD (8pm)
    Sept. 23 - EMPIRE (9pm)

    Thursdays:
    Oct. 1 - BONES (8pm)
    Oct. 1 - SLEEPY HOLLOW (9pm)

    Fridays:
    Nov. 6 - Masterchef Jr. (8pm)
    Nov. 6 - WORLD'S FUNNIEST (9pm)

NBC renews low rated drama:
Despite low ratings, NBC has renewed the summer series, AQUARIUS, for a second season. I guess there was a void to fill with HANNIBAL being let go.



Charter files application for merger:
Charter has officially filed its application with the FCC to purchase Time Warner Cable. Among the promises Charter will implement if the purchase is approved is faster and unlimited broadband internet and returning all call center jobs to the US. [LINK]



Verizon mobile video service adds key player:
When the new Verizon mobile video service launches, it will have 45 Scripps Networks series available to subscribers.



Amazon renews award winning series:
Before the second season has been released, Amazon Studios have renewed the series TRANSPARENT for a third season.



Huffington Post to offer live TV and develop films:
The news content service will be launching an OTT video service that will offer live programming, original TV series and documentaries. The company will also develop, distribute and produce feature length films. [LINK]



TBS adds late night series to lineup:
FUNNY OR DIE PRESENTS: AMERICA'S NEXT WEATHERMAN will join the TBS line up on August 8th, at 11 p.m.



AMC greenlights Clyde Phillips series:
In a straight to series order, AMC has picked up 10 episodes of the drama BROKE, set to premiere in 2016.
