Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 06/04/15
The NBA Finals, Game 1, dominated the network ratings, on Thursday night, helping ABC easily swept the ratings. The Game drew 14.1 million viewers and roughly 6's across the different demographic ratings. The numbers are roughly even with last year's game one performance, but the numbers will flex, because of the live broadcast, when finals are released this evening. With that, expect the very good numbers of JKL and COUNTDOWN to drop, significantly.FOX edged out CBS' all encore line up, for second place. BONES and WAYWARD PINES were both down, slightly, week-to-week, but that would be expected, with the NBA Finals tipping off.
NBC was a weak 4th place on the night, considering the three hours of original programming it delivered. HANNIBAL's season premiere only collected 2.6 million viewers and low ratings in each of the three demographic categories. Last season's premiere debuted in February, to relatively better numbers (3.3 million viewers, 1.1 demo rating). Remind me again why NBC continues to renew and air this very low rated series?
Week two of AQUARIUS dropped like a rock, losing 1.8 million viewers and well over 30% in the demographic ratings. Both AQUARIUS and HANNIBAL were the lowest rated original programs of the night, Could only top a repeat episode of ELEMENTARY and were the least watched, outside of The CW.
