With three NBA Finals games this week, ABC had a very easy time sweeping the broadcast ratings. Games two, four and three took the top three spots, respectively, for a combined average of 19.8 million viewers and a 7.5 rating in Adults 18-49. This should be one of the best rated Finals, in decades, once the final numbers are collected and analyzed.
ABC also placed two editions of NBA COUNTDOWN, THE BACHELORETTE, 20/20 and a THE MIDDLE encore, into the top 30. The one down side to ABC's week is the poor performance of the new drama THE WHISPERS, ranking just 45th on the week.
NBC placed second in each of the three demographic categories, and third in total viewers. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was the top series of the week, grabbing 10.4 million viewers. Of the six top 30 programs from the network, not a single scripted program is represented.
CBS, still focused on encores of its regular series, still managed to average over five million viewers, topping NBC and FOX. The network also placed 30.
FOX continues to struggle in the ratings, with the BONES season finale doing the best numbers for the network. It placed 26th, with 5.1 million viewers. Friday night's Women's World Cup action did help the average, hauling in a 1.6 rating in the A18-49 demo and ranking 39th in total viewers.
ION easily topped the CW, for the #5 English language network, and the CW dropped to 8th over all, allowing Univision and Telemundo to pass it in the rankings.
