Complete Nielsen Ratings: June 1 - 7, 2015
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #86:
With two games of the NBA finals on the schedule, ABC had an easy time sweeping the weekly ratings. It drew 1.3 million more viewers than #2 CBS. A full point higher, in the A18-49 and A25-54 demos, then NBC. The two games, on Thursday and Sunday, posted the best ratings in more than a decade, with Sunday night's getting over 19 million viewers.
After the two games, ABC still placed another for shows in the top 30, including the series premiere of the Monday night drama, THE WHISPERS, at #24. 20/20 had a nice showing, as a Friday night program, ranking 13th.
NBC took second placed in the two demographic categories, but third in total viewers and households. It too had some success with playoff coverage, as both nights of the NHL Stanley Cup series made the top 30, with Saturday night's Game 2 ranking 10th on the week, with 6.6 million viewers. Reality competition series AMERICA'S GOT TALENT and AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR placed 3rd and 8th, respectively, leading the way to a total of six programs in the top 30.
CBS, still mainly airing repeats, still managed to be the #2 network in viewership and households. Outside of its news programs, only THE BRIEFCASE is airing original episodes, for the network. CBS placed five shows in the top ten, and a total of 18 in the top 30. About half of those shows faied to post an A18-49 rating of a 1.0, or better.
FOX's summer is doing about as good as its spring, and fall did. Not a single program made the top 30 and only BONES (#31) and MASTERCHEF (#35) made the top 40.
In original programming, NBC lead the way with 95% originals (only a Saturday night encore of THE ISLAND). FOX is a distant second with 74% of originals programmed. ABC has 71% of its schedule devoted to new shows & sports. CBS is a very distant 4th place with just 27% of its schedule in originals, including three hours of the low rated TONY AWARDS.
