TV News Roundup: May 18, 2015
It has been light news since the five broadcast networks released their 2015-16 offerings, but here are a few of the recent stories, making headlines in the TV biz.
EPIX unveils two new series:
The premieum cable network, EPIX, has picked up two series, for 2016. GRAVES is a single camera comedy, starring Nick Nolte as a former President of the United States. BERLIN STATION is a soy thriller.
New AFV Host announced:
ABC announced the new host of AFV, for the 26th season. Alfonso Ribeiro (THE FRESH ORINCE OF BEL-AIR) will succeed Tom Bergeron. as host.
THE MINDY PROJECT lives on:
Taking sloppy seconds, Hulu has ordered 26 episodes, for a 4th season of THE MINDY PROJECT. The series was original cancelled by FOX, back in April, for very low viewership.
Hulu and AT&T:
AT&T will begin offering Hulu to its customers. those customers will no longer need a secondary device to watch content from the streaming service, and can access it via their cable box.
CBS comes to Chromecast:
You can now watch CBS content, vis the CBS app or CBA All-Access, through Chromecast. Also, CBS All-Access is now available for 60% of the country, through new carriage agreements with Affiliates.
LAST MAN STANDING has cable syndication deal:
The Hallmark Channel has acquired the rights to ABC's LAST MAN STANDING. Reruns will begin hitting the network, in January 2016.
