Ratings Review: THE SLAP (Season One)

I have always stated that there are very few bad concepts, for television, but plenty of poorly executed productions. For me, THE SLAP, was a bad idea, from the beginning. It never should have been produced.

Who wants to watch a series that is centered around a man getting back at people, after he slapped someone else's child? Well, based on the ratings. No one.

After a light sampling, for the series premiere, viewership quickly dropped. The numbers didn't just hurt the 8 p.m. slot, but the whole night. Between THE SLAP and ALLEGIANCE, THE BLACKLIST is lucky to have made it through the spring, as well as it did.

For the 8 episodes, THE SLAP averaged 3.62 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49, for the Live+SD ratings. The Live+3 ratings increased by one million viewers and three tenths of a ratings point, in the demo

With upscale viewers, THE SLAP delivered a 115 index of adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (“most current” including L+3, with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes).
