Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 05/14/15
No less than eight series had their season finales, but just one series had a series premiere, WAYWARD PINES. The much hyped FOX limited series, debuted to bad ratings, drawing just 3.8 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. Along with BONES, the series premiere was the lowest rated show, from a Big 4 network, and was the least watched show. Yet another clunker from FOX.
ABC had all three of its dramas air finales, helping it top the night in the A18-49 and A25-54 demographics. SCANDAL was the top rated show of the night, in the A18-49 demo, and was second in total viewership and the A25-54 demo. GREY'S ANATOMY was just behind SCANDAL, with 8.3 million viewers and a 2.2 A18-49 rating. The averages are pulled downward with AMERICAN CRIME, which drew less then half the numbers the two popular dramas produced. Why ABC renewed AMERICAN CRIME, is beyond me.
CBS was the most watched network and right behind ABC in the two demographic categories, despite half of its night in repeats. In the sea of BIG BANG encores, THE ODD COUPLE season finale drew 8.2 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the A18-49 demo. That is near even from last week's ratings, despite having a better lead in, last week. Closing the night, for CBS, was the finale of ELEMENTARY. Its 6.9 million viewers and 1.2 rating in the A18-49 demo and 1.8 rating in the A25-54 demo, won the 10 p.m. hour.
NBC was a very distant 3rd place, just edging out FOX for the spot. THE BLACKLIST finale ranked 3rd in its hour, with 7.3 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the A18-49 demographic. That is just slightly better than the previous week's ratings.
