Final Broadcast Ratings: May 18, 2015
ABC and NBC went head-to-head for the last Monday night of the 2014-15 season, with ABC getting the edge over NBC. DANCING WITH THE STARS was the most watched program, collecting 9.5 million viewers. The program finished second in the A18-49 ratings and the A25-54 ratings. the season premiere of THE BACHELORETTE followed and held onto 91% of DWTS' A18-49 ratings, allowing ABC to win the night in the demographic.
THE VOICE was the top show in both demographic ratings, but you would not guess that it was about to crown its new champion, within the next 24 hours. The A18-49 ratings was up about 8% and viewership was up 10%, but compared to the season premiere, THE VOICE is down near 3 million viewers and 37% in the A18-49 demo. In comparison, DWTS is up, slightly, from its season premiere.
CBS was a distant third, on the night. Of the 4 shows that aired on the night, only NCIS: LA will return to the night, come the fall. The once strong an mighty CBS monday night line up, became a mediocre line up of so-so programs. We'll see if SUPERGIRL can save the night, come November.
The series finale of THE FOLLOWING couldn't come soon enough, for FOX. just three million viewers tuned into the finale. Considering that 11 million viewers watched the season two season premiere, THE FOLLOWING quickly lost its audience and, perhaps, should have never seen a season three, where ratings erosion too a deep cut into the FOX lineup.
