ABC Announces Pickups for 2015-16 season

As wee approach Upfront Week, for the five major broadcast networks, ABC has released that they have picked up nine new series, three of which are comedies, for next season. Here is a quick look at those projects.

DR. KEN (Comedy):
Starring Ken Jeong, Suzy Nakamura and Dave Foley.
A brilliant doctor with no bedside manner (Jeong) ties to be a good husband and father, but drives everyone crazy.

THE MUPPETS (Comedy):
The Muppets are back on TV. The show will be presented as a documentary style, like THE OFFICE, and will look into the personal lives of the Muppets, both home and work. THE BIG BANG THEORY's Bill Prady is attached as producer/writer.

THE REAL O'NEALS (COMEDY):
Starring Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson and Noah Galvin.
A "perfect" Catholic family takes a turn when surprising truths are relieved. Family members stop pretending to be perfect and become "real."

THE CATCH (Drama):
Starring Mireille Enos, Alimi Ballard and Damon Dayoub. Executive Producer is Shanda Rhimes.
A fraud investigator becomes victim when fraud is perpertrated by her fiance.

THE FAMILY (Drama):
Starring Joan Allen, Allison Pill and Margot Bingham.
A politician's son shows up after presumed dead a decade earlier. His the sone who he says he is?

QUANTICO (Drama):
Starring Priyanka Chopra, Dougray Scott and Jake McLaughlin.
FBI Crime drama featuring new recruits, with one suspected to be behind the 9/11 attacks, in NYC.

OF KINGS & PROPHETS (Drama):
Starring Ray Winstone, Haaz Slieman an Maisie Richardson-Sellers.
A Biblical drama told through the eyes of a king, a prophet and a young shepherd.

WICKED CITY (Drama):
Starring Adam Rothenberg, Ed Westwick and Taissa Farmiga.
Each season will follow a historical Los Angeles murder case. Season one will center around a 1982 rock & roll rivalry in the Sunset Strip scene.

Untitled Pat & Fishburne Project (Drama):
Starring Don Johnson, Chace Crawford and Rebecca Rittenhouse.
Drama about the North Dakota oil boom and the blue collar brothers vs oil tycoon rivalry that ensues.
