US Box Office Results: April 3 - 5, 2015
FURIOUS 7 not only dominated the Easter weekend box office, it posted the 9th best opening weekend, ever. The latest film of the 14 year old franchise commanded $144.4 million, in domestic grosses. The eight moves that have done better than FURIOUS 7 are four comic book movies, the last Harry potter Movie and two of the three HUNGER GAMES movies. The worldwide take for the movie was $384 million and should bring in a cool one billion dollars, by the end of its theatrical run.
The rest of the top 10, in wide release, are older movies, falling in line, much like they were last week. DIVERGENT is starting to sputter as it just passed the $100 domestic gross and will be lucky to make it to $120 million.
